Project Details
There was a requirement to carry out preliminary load testing of reinforced concrete ribs within a rib and pot slab. A load test frame was designed by OSC to enable three hydraulic rams to apply point loads to three adjacent ribs within the floor assembly. Deflections were measured throughout the test and compared against the deflections derived by theory to enable our engineer to identify any non-linear behavior that might indicate the onset of failure.
The loads were applied incrementally with in line calibrated compression load cells used to accurately measure the applied loads.
