We assisted our Client in assessing the condition of existing filler—joist slabs forming the floors and roofs of an Iconic Grade 1 Listed Building in Central London.
Samples of the clinker concrete were extracted in the form of concrete cores tested to establish the compressive strength of the concretes as well as screening for deleterious materials or reactions within the concrete constituents.
Embedded ‘filler’ joists were carefully locally exposed for inspection to establish their condition.
Through these investigations OSC were able to advise as to the projected durability of the different slabs and their suitability for long term retention within a major refurbishment scheme
